About

I am a senior Data Scientist at the Fondazione Bruno Kessler in Trento, Italy, and a contract lecturer at the University of Trento.

My main research interests include the integration of artificial intelligence in bioinformatics and computational biology frameworks, leveraging the information of multiple layers such as high-throughput omics and bioimaging data. In this area, I have been involved in several projects (Horizon 2020, EIC Pathfinder, MSCA) and collaborations with national and international partners.

I supervise BSc/MSc and PhD students and hold the Italian National Scientific Habilitation (Abilitazione Scientifica Nazionale, ASN) at the Associate Professor level.

I am an expert in bioinformatics tools for massive omics data, high-performance computing, and scientific programming in R and Python. Further, I run workshops on bioinformatics, data science, and machine learning, and I am a contract lecturer in statistics, statistical learning, and data visualization for the Data Science M.Sc. of the University of Trento. I occasionally hold online workshops on the same topics in collaboration with Alta Formazione Insubria and Physalia Courses.
