Hi there!
I am Marco Chierici, a data scientist and musician. Welcome to my little corner on the web.
I am currently a research scientist and bioinformatician at the Bruno Kessler Foundation in Trento, Italy. I am an expert in bioinformatics for high-throughput biological data and in scientific programming with R and Python. Among my research interests is the application of artificial intelligence methods (i.e., deep learning) to computational biology. I run workshops on bioinformatics, data science, and AI / machine learning.
Music is an important part of my life: I am a classically trained pianist and composer. My piano repertoire includes classical music, ragtime, soundtrack, and pop/rock/latin music. I also play the pipe organ, an instrument that has always fascinated me due to its incredible expressive capabilities. I am available to play at weddings, parties, and receptions.
